Welcome to Newlands Dental Practice

COVID-19 Update

Tuesday 30th June 2020 10:30:00

Hi Everyone!

So we have been super busy getting our teams ready to start their RTW (return to work) for all our sites.

We have had to phase this process as most of our clinical teams had been redeployed to an Urgent Dental Hub and so while they are still needed there we are trying to slowly phase them all back into work at our own sites.

Some of you may already know that our Hayward’s Heath site was chosen as an Urgent Dental Hub. This was a huge success and we cannot thank ALL our amazing team for their uncompromising commitment to helping those emergency patients during the lockdown!

Super blessed to have you guys by our sides!!

Take a look at this short video for a glimpse of our New Normal

The Weybridge site

As of 15/6/20 has gone live for in house face to face emergency patients and is now catching up with any outstanding treatments that were cancelled during the Covid 19 lockdown.

(Please call the normal number as usual and we will decide with you the best way forward).

The Worthing site

As of 22/6/20 has gone live for in house face to face emergency patients and is now catching up with any outstanding treatments that were cancelled during the Covid 19 lockdown.

(Please call the normal number as usual and we will decide with you the best way forward).

The Hayward’s Heath / Sompting / Burgess Hill sites

As of 1/7/20 we are going live for in house face to face emergency patients and will be catching up with any outstanding treatments that were cancelled during the Covid 19 lockdown.

(Please call the normal number as usual and we will decide with you the best way forward).

Once we start the ball rolling, there will be immense pressure on getting through the back log of emergency patients so up to the 17/7/20 assume all routine and hygiene appointments are cancelled across all sites.

The current guidelines have suggested we see no more than 7/8 patients a day at present so please bear with us while we aim to catch up.
Once we have helped our emergencies and as the restrictions ease we will endeavour to get our check ups and hygienist appointments reestablished and hope to return to as close to normality once we are allowed too.
In the mean time please continue to call each site as normal or email us if you need further info.
Stay safe everyone.

Our Practice Re-opening Policy is now available.
A summary of your dental visit

In light of the recent COVID-19 Pandemic, all routine appointments have been cancelled until further notice - we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Due to government lockdown, we are now operating an emergency only service - consisting of phone advice (and possible referral to a local dental emergency hub).

Due to this unprecedented situation and to help prevent the further spread of COVID-19, we have decided to temporarily consolidate our 5 practices down to 3.

Our Burgess Hill premises will now be closed and patients will be redirected to our Haywards Heath practice..

Please do not visit any of our practices unless you have been asked to do so for a specific reason.

If you are unable to access immediate care please view our guidance for dental emergency advice.

If you would like to know how COVID-19 affects your dental treatment We have produced some FAQ's to help patients understand the scope of the service and what will be available.

Or, if you would rather contact us via phone, our friendly reception team will be available to answer any queries you may have between the hours of 8am - 5pm (Monday to Friday).

For Burgess Hill/Haywards Heath call:  01444 452112

We thank you for your understanding and hope you are all staying home and staying safe in this unparalleled time.

Corona Virus Advice

The advice for anyone in any setting is to follow these main guidelines.

  1. The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of a new continuous cough and/or high temperature. If you have these symptoms, however mild, stay at home and do not leave your house for 7 days from when your symptoms started. You do not need to call NHS 111 to go into self-isolation. If your symptoms worsen during home isolation or are no better after 7 days, contact NHS 111 online. If you have no internet access, you should call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999.

  2. Wash your hands more often than usual, for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose, or after being in public areas where other people are doing so. Use hand sanitiser if that’s all you have access to.

  3. To reduce the spread of germs when you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or your sleeve (not your hands) if you don’t have a tissue, and throw the tissue away immediately. Then wash your hands or use a hand sanitising gel.

  4. Clean and disinfect regularly touched objects and surfaces using your regular cleaning products to reduce the risk of passing the infection on to other people.

We are delighted to share some exciting news with you.

Our practice has recently joined the dentalessence ‘family’ of dental practices. Brother and sister duo, Dr Sachin Anand and Dr Shalini Anand, own and run dentalessence and we now have sister practices in Burgess Hill, Sompting, Weybridge and Worthing. We are also able to offer new services and procedures in-house, such as implants, orthodontics, advanced cosmetic dentistry, facial aesthetics and sedation.

We are planning a big New Year re-launch as dentalessence Haywards Heath in January 2020 so you may notice a few changes to the appearance of the premises but rest assured, underneath we are still the same practice we have always been. You will see familiar faces behind the reception desk and in the surgery, and a few new ones too.

Delivering first-class dental care to you is still our first priority and our aim is to ensure that you experience continuity during your visits to us.

Mike Sinclair and Ana Griffiths have sadly left our practice but Andrew Brown and Ian Pitman are staying with us and will continue to see their patients as always. In addition Dr Sachin Anand, Dr Bobby Jandu and Dr Saroj Dangi have joined our team. All are highly qualified and experienced dentists and will continue to provide you with the excellent dental care you are accustomed to, as will our team of skilled hygienists Charlotte, Jack, Kirsty and Rachael.

When you are due for your regular dental exam, or are in need of more urgent care, please call us on 01444 452112 and our friendly team of receptionists will make arrangements to suit your needs as always.

We look forward to seeing you again.
